Summary
In partnership with the Business Development Team, the Client Relationship Manager is responsible for developing new client relationships and maintaining existing client relationships in the North Central Region (NCR). These relationships may involve any of the following services: Life Insurance, Executive Benefits, Deferred Compensation, Long Term Care & Individual Disability Income. The Client Relationship Manager is also responsible for providing product knowledge, case design support, presentations, and annual review materials in conjunction with the above product offerings.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Work closely with other NCR team members to develop and execute an appropriate business plan to maximize new sales and first year revenue.
- Develop strong client relationships to maintain existing renewal and fee revenue.
- Assist with business development by formulating and implementing strategies and programs that differentiate NFP and its partner firms.
- Be a subject matter expert in the design, implementation, and service of Bank Owned Life Insurance (BOLI) and Executive Benefit programs.
- Conduct client meetings on an annual basis (in-person and/or via Teams).
- Attend annual state banking conventions and other events for relevant territories.
- Identify prospects and introduce NFP product offerings.
- Identify new and/or additional sales opportunities with existing clients.
- Identify, create, and leverage opportunities with key business partners.
- Coordinate and review standard BOLI and compliance reports.
- Coordinate and review standard benefit reports and participant statements.
- Develop and maintain client statistics and industry best practices in our region.
- Document relevant updates, reminders, and history in each client’s tracking file.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
- Prior insurance and/or benefits industry sales experience a plus.
- Must have strong client relationship building skills.
- Must be a detail-oriented self-starter with strong time management skills.
- Must have the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Proven attention to detail and ability to multitask across a wide range of clients.
- Possess strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Must be able to obtain insurance licenses (Series 6 & 63 a plus but not required).
- Proficient with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as various internet search techniques.

- Demonstrated ability to learn key business concepts and product offerings.
- Ability to effectively and professionally present to client decision makers.
- Proactively identify unique client situations and provide solutions to address those needs.

- Demonstrate personal and business integrity in all decisions and interactions.
- Possess a positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
- Must be a well-organized self-starter who can effectively analyze a problem, articulate a well-thought-out solution plan, and deliver results.
- Must have strong Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint skills.

The base salary range for this position is $52,000 – $75,000. The base salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location. Actual base salary offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
