Who We Are:
We are a newly independent wealth management firm, with approximately $500 million in revenue, recently carved out from a larger parent company and acquired by a leading private equity sponsor. With a strong foundation of client relationships, acquisitions, and growth potential, we are in the process of standing up new systems, processes, and controls to support our next phase of expansion. This is a unique opportunity to help shape the tax infrastructure of a high-growth platform from the ground up.
Summary:
We are seeking a strategic and execution-oriented Senior Vice President, Finance to build and lead the corporate finance function of a rapidly growing, private equity–backed wealth management firm. This role will be instrumental in establishing financial infrastructure, governance, reporting rigor, and scalable processes to support organic growth and M&A-driven expansion.
The SVP will serve as a key partner to the CFO, CEO, executive leadership team, and private equity sponsors, driving financial strategy, operational discipline, and enterprise value creation.
This is a build-and-scale leadership opportunity requiring both strategic thinking and hands-on execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Finance & Value Creation
- Partner with the CFO and executive team to develop and execute financial strategy aligned with the firm’s growth objectives.
- Lead long-range planning, annual budgeting, and rolling forecasting processes.
- Develop KPI frameworks and performance dashboards to drive accountability and transparency.
- Support board reporting and private equity sponsor deliverables, including covenant compliance and investor reporting.
- Drive EBITDA optimization initiatives and margin expansion strategies.
Financial Infrastructure & Controls
- Build scalable financial processes, policies, and internal controls appropriate for a PE-backed environment.
- Oversee accounting oversight in partnership with Controller (or build accounting function as needed).
- Implement financial systems and reporting tools to support multi-entity consolidation and M&A integration.
- Ensure GAAP compliance and audit readiness.
M&A & Integration
- Support acquisition modeling, diligence, and integration planning.
- Lead financial integration of acquired RIAs and advisory practices.
- Standardize reporting, compensation frameworks, and operational financial processes across entities.
Corporate Finance & Capital Management
- Manage liquidity planning, cash flow forecasting, and working capital optimization.
- Support debt compliance, capital structure analysis, and lender reporting.
- Partner with PE sponsors on capital allocation and strategic initiatives.
Team Building & Leadership
- Build and mentor a high-performing finance team.
- Establish organizational structure, role clarity, and scalable workflows.
- Foster a culture of accountability, data-driven decision-making, and operational excellence.
Qualifications:
- 12–15+ years of progressive finance experience; wealth management, asset management, or financial services strongly preferred.
- Prior experience in a private equity–backed environment highly preferred.
- Proven experience building finance infrastructure in a high-growth or roll-up environment.
- Strong financial modeling, FP&A, and operational finance background.
- Experience supporting M&A transactions and integrations.
- CPA, CFA, or MBA preferred.
- Strong executive presence and ability to communicate with board-level stakeholders.
What We Offer:
We’re proud to offer a competitive salary, PTO & paid holidays, 401(k) with match, and more. The base salary range for this position is $170,000 – $259,000. The base salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location. Actual base salary offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
