Summary: This role is for an aspiring Staff Accountant who wants a firsthand look into the world of accounting, finance and entertainment. The Staff Accountant Intern is responsible for supporting the department managers and partners in all aspects of business management for assigned clients and entities. The Staff Accountant Intern will shadow and assist with reviewing the work of the account managers & bookkeepers and maintaining the flow of information to the Managers. This position requires a basic understanding or desire to learn about accounting principles, a proactive attitude, attention to detail and a collaborative approach.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Communicates directly with account managers and collaborates with team members on various client matters
  • Reviews and approves checks daily
  • Assists with cash flow management planning, budgeting, and expense projections
  • Assists with comprehensive client meeting packages
  • Assists with monthly and quarterly Fair Market Value reports
  • Assists with tax preparation for individuals, S& C corporations, LLCs. Clients are entertainers in film, music, productions, professional athletes
  • Assists with balance sheets and income statements monthly
  • Assists with deposit review
  • Assists with General ledger maintenance
  • Assists with investment review and aggregation
  • Assists with tracking and reviewing royalties
  • Assists with entity structure and formation, including loan out corporations for entertainers
  • Assists with debt planning

 

Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities:

  • Accounting background (preferred)
  • Familiarity with tax laws and regulations (preferred)
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong time management skills to meet deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Ability to express expectations and progress clearly in both written and oral communications
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and analysis
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work under pressure

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: 

  •  Junior or Senior pursuing Bachelor’s Degree  in Accounting and/or Finance

 

What We Offer:

 The base salary range for this position is $18 to $24 hourly.   The base salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location. Actual base salary offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
