Summary:

The VP/Business Partner, Client Services Manager is a client-facing role working with a small team of internal Producers (Advisors) to help manage and grow their book of business. While in this role, you will liaise between the Producers and Account Management team to ensure a seamless renewal process for clients, assist the Producers in bringing in and marketing new business, and effectively deliver the resources of NFP to our clients. This role requires a strong understanding of all lines of commercial coverage, a self-starter attitude and excellent communication and follow-up skills. You will help navigate new P&C opportunities, provide private equity due diligence and work with various subject matter experts with your goal of becoming the broker post-close of the transactions. You will also manage an Account Executive as a direct report. This can be an ideal career move for an experienced Sr. Commercial Lines Account Executive looking for a transition out of day-day BOB servicing and into a senior advisory servicing role while also acting as a liaison with producers and the marketing team and providing advisory services to clients. You should have experience servicing books of larger middle-markets and complex P&C risk/large lines accounts.

This is a full-time role with the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule after an acclimation period. This role requires at least 2 days a week from our mid-town NYC office and or Plainview Long, Island office. There will also be periodic client visits within the tri-state area and occasional regional travel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible to act on and complete client requests and/or action items that may arise throughout the year. Including but not limited to:
  • responding to new coverage requests, gathering information on a new company, acquisition or project, sending to marketing for quotes and reviewing for accuracy
  •  Meet with assigned Producers on a regular basis to assist with renewal and communication strategy and address client concerns
  • Provide mentorship/leadership to assigned support staff
  • Responsibilities as it relates to Renewal Business:
    • Serve as the line of communication between the Producers and Account management team to ensure that the renewal process is moving forward in a timely manner; maintain renewal calendar, perform appropriate outreach and ensure effective communication to clients and advisors regarding updates on incumbent and alternative options
    • Present renewals to clients with or without the Producer’s presence
    • Document meeting takeaways and next steps; ensure proper execution
  • Responsibilities as it relates to New Business:
    • Assist assigned Producers in obtaining full submission from prospects and follow up on open opportunities and prospects when full submission is not fully completed and received
    • Prepare and edit proposals from Marketing and present to prospects, with assistance from Producers
    • Research, gather details and enter and track leads for Producers using the Salesforce System
    • Attend sales calls, partner with Producer to help evaluate and drive the close

Knowledge, Skills or Abilities:

  • Knowledge of all areas of commercial coverage
  • Understanding of the Private Equity due diligence process
  • Ability to work independently and anticipate client and team needs
  • Effective time management and decision-making skills
  • Diligent follow-up skills
  • Ability to express ideas clearly in both written and oral communications
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Commanding presentation and public speaking abilities and having a sales aptitude
  • Ability to work in our NYC mid-town office on a hybrid schedule
  • Ability to attend client visits in the NYC tri-state area (via commute/drive/ride) and accommodate regional travel which could be approx. 50%

Education and/or Experience:

  • More than 8 years of middle to large market commercial lines account management experience with working knowledge of the Northeast markets
  • Must have retail brokerage experience (can be in addition to, but not limited to only Carrier, Wholesaler, and Intermediary agencies)
  • Experience with the EPIC and Salesforce systems highly desired. If not EPIC, fluency in a comparable agency mngt system is required
  • Supervisory/Management experience and/or related Management training is preferred
  • BA/BS preferred
  • Demonstrated effectiveness with mentorship or staff management preferred

Certificates, Licenses, Registration:

  • P&C Insurance Broker’s license required upon hire

The base salary range for this position is $182,000 to $228,000. The base salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location. Actual base salary offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
