Job Summary:

This is a full-time, exempt, client support position on the Commercial Lines-Group Captive Team. This is a support role, requiring the Account Coordinator/Sr. Coordinator to assist the account teams by providing basic administrative and support functions in the team’s day-to-day servicing of clients.  While in this role, you will begin to have client contact, via more senior team members.  You may join meetings and client calls, but will be responsible for listening, taking notes and providing follow-up to the team.  In this role, you will begin to learn the functions of the Account Manager, most specifically begin to get exposure to the RFP process and continue to expand upon their industry knowledge through special projects as directed by senior team members. Title and salary will be commensurate with experience. 

This is a full-time position, with the flexibility of a hybrid schedule from our Charlotte, NC office. Working in the office at least 2 days a week is required (other days from home) and is essential for fostering interaction and facilitating career development. Being in the office allows for spontaneous collaboration, immediate feedback, and stronger team relationships, all of which are crucial for your professional growth and success. A remote option will be considered for those with P&C and EPIC experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists the Group Captive prospective clients with obtaining historical exposure and loss information with Captive Submission template
  • Follow up with prospective clients/producers to assist/review/check completion of historical data through review of loss data and historical audits.
  • Analyze & review with AM/AE the “back of the napkin” & “Look Back” analysis to check eligibility for Captive program.
  • Respond to clients’ needs by providing/producing binders, certificates, policies, auto id cards, evidence of insurance, and other related items accurately and on time. 
  • Additional duties as requested by the Group Captive team.
  • Gains exposure to clients and carrier contacts; attends meetings and calls, primarily does not advise clients.
  • Assists the Account Management Team in preparing insurance for company proposal requests.
  • Performs policy checking, completes coverage checklists and coverage recommendation letters.
  • Creates and maintains client files in the Agency Mgmt. System in accordance with office procedures. When order comes in, verifies rates are correct, adjusts for any additional premium and expedites invoice.
  • Assists with billing questions from clients and insurance company personnel with assistance from the Accounting Dept. when necessary.

Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities:

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-confident to make sound independent decisions while prioritizing and self-managing workload.
  • Ability to successfully interact with a variety of people.
  • Team player and adaptive to changing priorities and diverse personalities.
  • Must be able to read, analyze and reconcile financial reports.
  • Possess good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • May be required to work overtime as necessary.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Word, PowerPoint & Excel, Teams and Copilot/AI. Advanced Excel preferred. 
  • EPIC experience is preferred, but will consider other agency management system experience.
  • When working from home, you must maintain a private workspace to secure company equipment and correspondence; maintain high-speed internet, be present and responsive online and minimize personal interruptions during your work shift.

Education and/or Experience: 

  • High School or equivalent is required. Additional education and training preferred.
  • Ideally more than 3 years of related P&C account support/operations experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

The base salary range for this position is $32,000– $70,000. The base salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location. Actual base salary offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
