Summary:
The Director of Global Controllership Projects reports to the SVP, Chief Accounting Officer of NFP Corp. They are responsible for the operations of the Accounting Department, which flows from the processing of cash receipts through the generation and review of Financial Statements. The responsibilities include planning, organizing, managing and preparing a variety of related financial analyses and reports, with wide latitude for independent judgment, discretion and decision-making. Establish internal controls, and revise as necessary, to ensure the proper accounting and safeguarding of the Company’s assets. Responsible for ensuring that processes adhere to set standards, as well as, ensuring that the financial data presentation complies with current GAAP accounting and reporting requirements. Must establish and maintain good lines of communication with other Company personnel impacting Accounting operations. Manage and assist subordinate staff in accounting for difficult and complex financial transactions. Assist the SVP, Chief Accounting Officer with other matters, as necessary.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the daily operations of the Accounting Department
- Plan, organize, manage and prepare a variety of related financial analyses and reports, with wide latitude for independent judgment, discretion and decision-making
- Establish internal controls, and revise as necessary, to ensure the proper accounting and safeguarding of the Company’s assets
- Manage and assist subordinate staff in accounting for difficult and complex financial transactions
- Ensure that processing standards are adhered to
- Ensure that the financial data presentation complies with current GAAP accounting and reporting requirements
- Work closely with other Company personnel on attaining clarification and/or resolution on complex matters that may arise
- Responsible for generating and reviewing the Financial Statements
- Assist the Controller with other matters, as necessary
- Manage Accounting staff
- Occasional extended hours as needed
Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities:
- Knowledge of financial services industry operations
- Knowledge of Lawson accounting system
- Must be proficient in Excel, Word, and be able to adapt to/understand various accounting systems, including those of the clearing brokers
- Must have a thorough understanding of GAAP and its’ applications
- Excellent communication, organization, and analytical skills are a must
- Must be able to manage projects efficiently and effectively as well as meet set deadlines
- Needs to be very detail oriented and be able to work at a fast pace
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business Analytics, Accounting or related field
- 2 – 4 years of experience with financial modeling and risk analyses
- 1 – 3 years’ experience using SQL Server 2005/2008, SQL Reporting Services, SQL stored procedures, DTS, Excel Pivot tables and macros and Business Objects
- Must possess a strong understanding of Microsoft SQL Reporting Services and how to create, deploy and manage reports
- 1 – 3 years analyst or FP&A experience preferably at a broker dealer, a bank or other financial institution

The base salary range for this position is $85,000 – $115,000. The base salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location. Actual base salary offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
