The Surplus Line Tax Administrator is responsible for evaluating incoming documents for accuracy to process the surplus line tax filing with the appropriate state. This will involve an intense amount of communication and follow up with internal staff and will require strong attention to detail. Excellent computer skills along with effective verbal, written and electronic communications are required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure proper documents are received and reviewed for completeness
Examine documents to confirm accuracy of filing state, tax calculation and disclosure requirements
Request information and documents from staff and follow up until the appropriate data is received
Complete assigned surplus line tax filings by inputting insurance data into various systems
Assist in various projects and audits
Review accounting reports and research transactions to clean up backlog
Reconcile surplus line tax filings with accounting logs
Respond to emails, Epic tasks and voicemails timely
Assist with special projects as assigned
Research various surplus line tax requirements as needed
Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities:
Ability to effectively and professionally communicate and build positive working relationships with a variety of people and groups within the company
Strong organizational, decision-making, and time management skills
Advanced skills in Excel and Outlook
Education and/or Experience:
High School graduate or general education degree (GED), college preferred
Previous P&C insurance office experience desired
Epic Agency Management System desired

The base salary range for this position is $54,000 – $60,000. The base salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location. Actual base salary offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
