Summary: Excess Reinsurance Underwriters Agency, Inc., a market leader in the self-funded insurance market, has a full-time position available on its medical review team. The Medical Review Coordinator will provide vital support to the medical team by managing administrative tasks, gathering and reviewing medical documentation, and managing and assigning medical reviews. Responsibilities include intake of all medical reviews, review of claims reports and medical records, and assigning to Medical Reviewer within expected timeframes. The successful candidate must have strong organizational skills, have experience in a prior medical setting with knowledge of medical diagnoses, be process oriented, and be able to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. LPNs encouraged to apply!
Candidate selected will be required to attend the office 4x per week.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work as a team with the Medical Review Nurses to achieve the required levels of service and review
- Follow processes to coordinate incoming work from the underwriting department
- Possess the ability to learn and understand the medical review process to assist nurses as needed
- Ensure all files are documented properly with follow up for outstanding items
- Manage a high-volume work environment and prioritize work to meet specific timeframes
Requirements:
- Experienced LPN with strong organizational skills a plus.
- At least 3 years’ experience in office setting or similar clinical setting.
- Medical terminology required.
- Knowledge of medical diagnoses and procedures.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel – Intermediate level.
- Ability to work independently but also support a team.

The base salary range for this position is $45,000 – $60,000. The base salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location. Actual base salary offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
