Summary:

Our 10-week Summer Intern Program is designed to provide students with a challenging and meaningful experience supporting the M&A team. The position involves day-to-day responsibilities and a variety of projects that will allow interns to enhance their industry knowledge. The role is in-person three days a week and remote two days per week.

 

Responsibilities (or Project Work):

  • Gain an understanding of what attributes make prospects attractive for M&A, specifically in the RIA and business management industries
  • Analyze CIMs / CIPs and summarize materials for the corporate development team
  • Create initial analysis based on prospect financials and compare to Wealthspire benchmarks
  • Participate in initial calls with prospective target companies
  • Gain an understanding for the deal approval process
  • Create analysis based on the financials, AUM, and pro forma for use in various deliverables
  • Participating in the departmental diligence processes
  • Assist in the creation of various presentations used throughout the diligence process
  • Assist in the creation of deal evaluation materials
  • Assist in the creation of the flow of funds
  • Gain an understanding of the integration / monitoring process
  • Participate in the integration kick off call immediately after close
  • Assist in the creation of the opening balance sheet
  • Participate in the ongoing monitoring of businesses after closing

 

Qualifications:

  • Rising junior or senior preferred
  • Pursuing an Undergraduate degree in related field
  • Genuine interest in investment research or investment consulting and desire to learn more about the financial services industry
  • Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail, organization skills and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a collegial environment with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office products such as Word, PowerPoint and Excel

The hourly range for this position is $18.00 – $24.00 per hour. The base salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location. Actual base salary offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
