SUMMARY: NFP is seeking an Associate Broker for its Property & Casualty group. This position is responsible for assisting brokers and account managers with fulfilling customer service needs.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist insurance brokers with insurance account management and customer service needs.
  • Maintain open and clear communication channels with carriers, clients, and internal staff.
  • Use of our Agency Management System – Training Provided.
  • Use of Salesforce – Training Provided.
  • Processing of Certificates of Insurance, Evidences of Property Insurance, Auto ID Cards, and Policy Endorsements.
  • Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

 

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT:

  • Remains informed regarding industry information.
  • Expected to further industry education through insurance courses with intent to pursue an industry designation.
  • Expected to be a strong member of the community and further personal development in volunteer opportunities.

 

CORE JOB OBJECTIVES:

  • Establish effective working relationships with carriers, clients, and internal staff.
  • Demonstrate a “good is never good enough” attitude to ensure client satisfaction and to support key Thompson Flanagan initiatives.
  • Work with carriers, clients, and internal staff to ensure accurate and timely response to all outstanding issues.
  • Work with all carriers, clients, and internal staff in a manner that fosters mutual respect and teamwork.
  • Respond to requests from clients, and internal staff by stated timeframes.
  • Project a professional image in action and appearance.
  • Consistently be on time for work and all scheduled meetings and training classes.
  • Maintain exceptional responsiveness (e.g., review/respond to emails within 24 hours; client voicemails within 2-4 hours).

 

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALITIES:

  • 4-year college degree or industry experience (not required).
  • Ability to obtain an insurance license (within 3 months of employment) and retain license by meeting the continuing education requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to self-check work.
  • Task oriented, excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize workload.
  • Enthusiastic attitude, cooperative team player, adaptable to new or changing circumstances, professional demeanor, sensitive to client needs, self-motivated, creative and innovative.
  • Excellent problem-solving and time management skills.
  • High level of computer literacy including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
  • Prior customer service experience is preferred.

The base salary range for this position is $53,000 and $75,000.  The base salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location. Actual base salary offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
